This guide will show you how to use the game and teach you the secret tricks to become an Emoji Sudoku Master!
🎮 How to Use Your Animal Sudoku Board
The whole screen is set up to help you play and win!
1. Game Setup (At the Top)
Pick Your Size: Use the button on the left to choose how big your puzzle is:
4×4 Grid (Easy): Perfect for beginners! You use 4 animals (🐸, 🐰, 🐱, 🐶).
6×6 Grid (Harder): A tough challenge for puzzle experts! You use 6 animals (🦊, 🐻, 🐼, 🐯, 🦁, 🐵).
Generate New Puzzle: Click this yellow button any time you want a brand-new game!
2. The Puzzle Grid
The Clues (Light Blue Boxes): These squares already have an animal in them. These are your starting clues, and you can’t change them!
Your Spots (White Boxes): Click an empty white box to select it. It will turn soft orange when it’s ready for an animal.
Helper Colors (Light Cyan): When you click a box, the whole row, column, and block will turn light blue/cyan. This helps you quickly see what animals are blocking your spot!
Uh-Oh! (Red Boxes): If you click the “Check” button and a square turns red, it means you have two of the same animal in that line or box. Time to fix it!
3. Placing Animals and Getting Help
Animal Choices: After you click an empty white square, click one of the animal emojis next to the board to place it in the square.
Clear Button (❌): Made a mistake? Click the little red “X” to erase an animal from a selected square.
Check My Puzzle: Click this blue button when you think you’re close! If you’ve won, you get a giant confetti party! 🎉
Give Me a Hint (Limited to 3!): If you are really stuck, this button will give you a green animal in the correct spot. BUT BE CAREFUL! You only get three hints per puzzle, so use them wisely!
Show Solution: If you give up, this button will fill the whole board for you.
🧠 How to Solve Sudoku: The Secret Rules
Sudoku has three main rules. You must follow all three rules for every single animal!
Rule 1: The Row Rule An animal can only appear ONE TIME in each horizontal ROW (side-to-side line).
Rule 2: The Column Rule An animal can only appear ONE TIME in each vertical COLUMN (up-and-down line).
Rule 3: The Box Rule An animal can only appear ONE TIME in each thick-bordered BOX (the $2\times2$ or $2\times3$ shaded blocks).
🧐 Your Top Solving Strategy: The Blockers
To figure out where an animal goes, use the Blocker Strategy:
Pick an empty square.
Look at its Row and Column: Which animals are already there? They are blockers and can’t go in your empty square.
Look at its Box: Which animals are already in the small block? They are also blockers.
Find the One Left! If you can eliminate all but one animal, that last animal must be the correct one!
Keep going until every square has an animal, and you’ll be a champion! Good luck!
